Are bank requirements confirmed before setup? – MCG’s MIPster the Tipster™

EFT Setup Goes Smoothly When Bank Requirements Are Known Up Front

Electronic payments only work when the file matches what the bank expects. In MIP®, enabling EFT without confirmed bank specifications is one of the fastest ways to end up with rejected files and urgent troubleshooting.

Before configuration begins, the bank needs to provide its ACH requirements in writing. That usually includes routing details, transmission and origin IDs, whether CCD or CCD+ is required, and any addenda rules the bank enforces. These details are not interchangeable across banks, even when the formats look similar.

Getting this information first changes the setup experience. Fields are populated correctly the first time. Test files behave as expected. Go-live is quiet instead of stressful. Most EFT issues are not software problems. They are mismatches between what was entered and what the bank actually requires.

This video is for accounting teams preparing to activate EFT in MIP and who want the transition to work without rework. It is not intended for organizations that prefer trial and error with live payment files.

McGovern Consulting Group provides MIP Accounting® Training and Implementation Services. We focus on bank coordination during setup because successful EFT starts with alignment, not configuration alone.

If you are planning to enable EFT and want to avoid avoidable rejections, schedule time with us to review your bank requirements and setup approach.
